Whatever. All I know is that it is fall, though unseasonably warm weather has hung on. We still haven't had a hard frost in Golden Valley and that usually happens in early of mid-October. So it has been nice--it was 70 just two days ago, and still, no frost is forecast for this week.
One indicator of fall that we just can't ignore is the garden. The squash are harvested and many parts are cleared and ready for winter. As pictured, a few flowers remain though they are a bit tattered and faded. They are pretty none-the-less, though different than the garden in its August lushness. The squirrel photos are just because Minnie (yes, we name our squirrels) is cute. And before you criticize me for feeding wild animals human food, I would ask you to note that it is organic whole grain bread that she is eating.
Lets hope that these photos are not the only bright spot that we experience this week.
